Did you know that music, games and dance are powerful tools to enhance language learning in our young preschoolers? All three generate neural connections that have an impact on the student’s emotional state: they help them relax and feel good, which positively predispose the student to learn something new.
Music simultaneously stimulates different parts of the brain, which contributes to improving the skills we will later need to learn a new language, such as memory, attention, concentration and language rhythm. In addition, song lyrics help children become familiar with the phonemes and words of the language.
Dancing is not only a form of expression, but also a path to linguistic fluency. By moving to the music, children associate words with actions and feel an emotional connection to the language they are learning. Games are a fantastic didactic tool that supports the integral development of children because it is a mental and physical activity through which interaction with the environment provides them with pleasurable experiences.
