As part of the celebration of Book Day, last Friday, at the Viña del Mar site, the Early Childhood Educators and Assistants performed the story ‘The Gingerbread Cookie’.
Although we are not a bilingual school, the boys and girls in the Initial Cycle have 10 hours of English per week, where, through the British methodology Floppy Phonics, the teachers of the subject teach the correspondence between letters and sounds in the language, helping the auditory, visual and written acquisition of the language in a more efficient and orderly manner, providing tools for reading and writing it.
At the same time, the kindergarten teachers and assistants have been trained in the language so that they can integrate it into the classroom to give basic instructions to the students during the school day, which reinforces what the subject teachers teach during class hours.
With beautiful teamwork and fun staging the children had a great time. We thank the English Department for the initiative and the whole Early Years team for the beautiful teamwork. Teachers from other subjects were motivated to carry out a next activity, so we will soon be informing you of a second staging!
